5/16/2023 0 Comments Heretics vampire diarieHaving grown up in the restrictive 19th century and then being trapped in a prison world for over a century, the Heretics' arrival in Mystic Falls coincides with the first time Valerie, Mary Louise and Nora have ever had autonomy over their own lives. And what makes these women so intriguing is how they represent a perspective previously unexplored within the world of TVD. But since Beau basically stands around silently until Lily tells him to kill someone, let's just be real here: When we talk about the Heretics, we're talking about the women. The group includes the stoic Beau (Jaiden Kaine), the shrewd Valerie ( Elizabeth Blackmore), the manipulative Mary Louise (Teressa Liane) and the bratty Nora ( Scarlett Byrne). Instead, The Vampire Diaries introduced the Heretics, a family of vampire-witch hybrids led by the Salvatore matriarch Lily ( Annie Wersching). Sure, there are still a few burgeoning love triangles, but the things that defined the show since its inception - Elena's Salvatore romances and the struggle for normalcy within a supernatural world - are nowhere to be found. Rather than attempt to fill the void Dobrev left with another kind-hearted, All-American girl, Julie Plec & Co. Yet The Vampire Diaries beat the odds and has delivered one of its best seasons in years, all by completely upending the status quo. The loss of star Nina Dobrev combined with the fact that seven seasons is basically geriatric for a TV show these days put increased pressure on the CW staple to remain relevant. Teressa is represented by Active Artists Mgmt. The Vampire Diarieshad a lot to prove this year. Here she made her singing debut, her writing was honored in the Beatnik Cabaret and she made the decision to pursue acting as a profession. While studying at university, Teressa was swept up in the crazy world of Student Theatre. With the support of her drama teacher and friends, Teressa was encouraged to join a local Theatre Group where she was surrounded by unique performers and gained invaluable experience as a writer and actor. At 15, she was scouted to try out for the Victoria State basketball team, but quickly realized that her passion and heart was in theatre and performance. A self-confessed tomboy, you were just as likely to find Teressa out on the basketball court, as you were to find her spending her recess and lunchtime in the drama or media room. Throughout high school, Teressa enjoyed sports and the arts, equally. She credits her mother for impressing the importance of music and art in her life. Teressa always had a deep-love for film and theatre, from a very young age. Teressa continues to work on Australian and international projects, across a range of genres, from her portrayal of Agrippina the Younger in historical drama "Roman Empire" (Netflix), to her work in yet-to-be-released spy comedy "The Spy Who Never Dies" (Rhythmic Films) and action/survival thriller "The Reef: Stalked" (Thrills & Spills). Teressa's first big break was on Australian television show, "Neighbours" (Fremantle Media) where she played the lovable, larger-than-life character, Rhiannon Bates. Best known for her portrayal of ruthless heretic Mary Louise on the hit show "The Vampire Diaries" (Warner Bros./The CW) & Angelica on "Into the Badlands" (AMC). Teressa Liane is an Australian actress born in Melbourne, Victoria.
